CARTHAGE, Mo. — Six Star Football held its first ever Camp & Combine on Sunday in Carthage, Mo., drawing more than 300 athletes from Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas.
Here, we take a look at several 2020 wide receivers who raised their profile at the event.
178 — Lane Matlock, 6’0, 155, WR/DB, 2020, Tahlequah @lane3210
40 — 5.06 … Broad 7’8.5 … Short Shuttle 4.87 … Power Ball 31’3
Matlock is one of the skill positions players from Tahlequah that will look to have a very good senior season and we think that he will have a great season this upcoming year. Tahlequah has some of of the more productive and versatile players you will find and Matlock will look to be one of those.
67 — Luke Payne, 6’2, 150, WR/TE, 2022, Ponca City @_Luke_Payne_
40 — 4.94 … Broad 8’0.5 … Short Shuttle 4.82 … Power Ball 27’7
At 6-2 Payne is one of the biggest receivers and maybe the tallest one for Ponca City. Payne has some great size and being only a freshman this past season will be exciting to see what he can do over the next three seasons. Ponca city will look to be an offensive minded passing team this season and Payne will look to factor into the mix.
185 — Caleb Perry, 6’0, 185, WR, 2021, Bartlesville @calebperry27
40 — 5.03 … Broad 8’0 … Short Shuttle x4.69 … Power Ball 33’8
Perry is one of the many up and coming prospects that attended our camp from Bartlesville, a player that stands 6-0 and does hold it at 185 pounds so not bad size and has some weight on his frame also. Perry is that type of player that that Bruins should be excited to get into their passing game in 2019.
71 — Zach Prince, 5’10, 150, WR, 2023, Vinita
40 — 5.10 … Broad 7’2.5 … Short Shuttle 4.69 … Power Ball 25’10
Prince is one of the young and exciting players that the Hornets are excited to see grow over the next many years. The Vinita offense has a lot of potential to be a potent one and players like Prince have some good potential to factor into the mix in the coming seasons.
72 — Bradley Pruitt, 5’7, 160, WR/SS, 2021, Tahlequah @abpruitt_
40 — 4.75 … Broad 8’7 … Short Shuttle 4.28 … Power Ball 28’5
Pruitt had the second fastest shuttle time among all Oklahoma receivers with a 4.28 mark. Pruitt was a player that also ran a 4.75 in the 40 and we like what his on field playing speed looks like. Clearly as witnessed by his shuttle time, Pruitt can use some good footwork to make moves and avoid defenders. Keep an eye on this junior to be.
74 — Jaden Reed, 5’9, 150, WR/S, 2020, Prue @reed_jaden1053
40 — 4.88 … Broad 7’10 … Short Shuttle 4.75 … Power Ball 31’0
Reed, a senior that will look to help the passing game at Prue in his final season is a player that has some nice play making ability. Prue is a lean 5-9, 160 and has some nice ability to get open and make plays with a team that returns himself and QB Jace Horton looking to make a good senior run in 2019.
188 — Mekhi Roberson, 6’3, 158, WR, 2021, Spiro @Kidjuice14
40 — 4.75 … Broad 8’11.5 … Short Shuttle 4.56 … Power Ball 28’2
Roberson is a good combination of size and speed which does make him one of the unique talents at our camp, its hard to defend against a 6-3 receiver who has the ability to go up in a crowd and make plays with some good hands and a soild speed (4.75) in the 40 at 6Star. The Spiro offense has a nice nucleus of offensively talented players and Roberson is among those great looking young athletes, considering also that he has two years left we really fell Roberson could be one of the better play making receivers for Spiro this season. Has a lot of big time potential.
191 — Parker Ross, 5’11, 180, WR/DB, 2020, Tuttle @KennethParkerR1
40 — 4.65 … Broad 9’0.5 … Short Shuttle 4.44 … Power Ball 35’11
Ross tied for the third best broad jump mark of 9’05.5 and is an athlete that works very hard and makes the most out of every play, an invaluable asset and two-way standout to one of the best teams in the state at Tuttle, Ross will be one of their go to players in the ‘19 campaign and is a player that really gets the most out of each play. His 35’11 powerball mark was also among the top 10 for all Oklahoma WRs at the 6Star camp this season and Ross is one of those players that shows some explosive capability.
193 — Kwame Sey, 5’10, 190, WR, 2020, Spiro @Kwametswy
40 — 4.70 … Broad 8’8 … Short Shuttle 4.50 … Power Ball 33’11
Sey holds strong as a great play making weapon on this talent laden Spiro team and will be looked at to be a team leader entering his senior season. Sey posted good numbers across the board, a testament to his overall athletic skillset. Sey is an offensive playmaker that can do several great things for his team and we like his ability. 4.70 in the 40, 8’8 broad jump, 4,50 shuttle and 33’11 powerball all very respectable numbers.
