CARTHAGE, Mo. — Six Star Football held its first ever Camp & Combine on Sunday in Carthage, Mo., drawing more than 300 athletes from Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas.
Here, we take a look at several 2020 wide receivers who raised their profile at the event.
137 — Nate Anderson, 5’9, 195, RB/LB, 2020, Rejoice Christian @NateAnderson068
40 — 4.72 … Broad 8’0.5 … Short Shuttle 4.50 … Power Ball 36’2
With a 195 pound frame, Anderson is one of the more powerful and bruising type backs we had at our combine this year and not only can he run you over but his is strong as well. His 36’2 powerball was fourth best among our Oklahoma RBs this year at the 6Star Combine and his 4.50 short shuttle and 4.72 are nothing to sneeze at either. Alexander is a great combo of solid speed and good size and excellent strength.
38 — Noah Alexander, 5’10, 177, RB, 2021, Eufaula @alexandernoah88
40 — 4.43 … Broad 9’8 … Short Shuttle 4.28 … Power Ball 36’0
What an incredible athletes and pure speedster….Alexander was the fastest player at the 2019 SixStar Combine and won a race off with John Marshall speedsters Bryce Stephens and Timothy Stephens, two burners from John Marshall, clocking in under the 4.4 mark in the race off. Ran an official 4.43 in combine testing. Alexander, only a class of ‘21 prospect with two more full seasons to shine and rack up college recruiters from throughout the land, was also among the camp leaders for Oklahoma RB in many categories. His 9’8 broad job was second and his short shuttle of 4.28 both ranked second best among OK backs. Also proved he is an explosive athlete with a 36’ powerball mark, good for fifth best among the Oklahoma running backs at the combine. Alexander rushed for over 1,000 yards as a freshman and has scarry speed and talent to burn.
1 — Kyron Downing, 5’11, 158, RB, 2022, Vinita @kyrondowning
40 — 4.56 … Broad 8’6 … Short Shuttle 4.84 … Power Ball 33’3
Downing is highly touted and regarded as a speedster that is coming off one of the most productive rushing seasons in Oklahoma and all that after just his freshman season. Unlimited potential is written all over the 5-11, 158 pound back from Vinita and the Hornets will have his talent and gifts for three more seasons. Downing punched in the second fastest 40 time of any Oklahoma running back at the 2019 6Star Combine (4.56) and had solid numbers across the board with an 8’6 broad and a 33’3 power only as a freshman you can expect those numbers to go up in the coming seasons. We expect some great things and continued dominance in the Vinita running game from Downing.
51 — Tyler Floyd, 5’11, 140, RB/DB, 2023, Vinita @tylerfl32276668
40 — 4.84 … Broad 6’5 … Short Shuttle 4.59 … Power Ball 27’9
Floyd was a nice addition to the 6Star Combine and is part of a very talented core for the Hornets of Vinita. We look for him to factor in well in an offensive unit that has shown the can produce offensively, both in the running and passing game. One of the many young athletes in the class of 23 getting a jump on their careers, Floyd showed quite respectable figures with a 4.59 in the shuttle and a 4.84 in the 40 yard dash, both numbers that were better than several of his upper class counterparts at the ‘19 combine.
158 — Solomon Granger, 6’0, 178, RB/DB, 2020, Newcastle @sollygranger
40 — 4.78 … Broad 9’“ … Short Shuttle 4.11 … Power Ball 35’0
Total package player and athlete, Granger just showed how much of a truth athlete he really is and that he deserves the attention and respect of colleges and potential to be a next level difference maker. Granger showed up with the top shuttle run from any Oklahoma back at the 2019 combine with a very impressive mark of 4.11. Ranked fourth in the broad jump among all OKLA backs with a mark of 9’0 showing and proving that he once again was one of the more athletic backs at the combine. His powerball of 35 was also a top 10 mark and a very solid number as well. Granger was very impressive and we expect him to have an outstanding senior campaign.
267 — Donovan Hammer, 5’11, 225, RB, 2020, Watts @Donovanhammer3
40 — 4.87 … Broad 7’9.5 … Short Shuttle 5.00 … Power Ball 32’7
Entering a senior season and looking for a good one will be Watts running back Donovan Hammer, a 5-11, 225 back that brings a ton of power to his running style and with his 225 pound frame can make you pay the price upon contact. Hammer did show that he has some nice intangibles that will benefit him in the coming season and be a back to keep an eye on when the ‘19 season kicks off.
58 — Aiden Jones, 5’7, 165, RB/WR, 2020, Mannford @aidenj138
40 — 4.59 … Broad 9’9 … Short Shuttle 4.43 … Power Ball 39’9
Despite being just 5-9, 165, Jones showed he was just as powerful and strong as anyone at the 6Star Combine with his 39’9 powerball figure which ranked second best among all Oklahoma backs attending. Jones also was the leader among all Oklahoma backs with a 9’9 broad jump and his 4.59 in the 40 yard dash ranked fourth fastest, showing that he is a very explosive, powerful and speedy back even for his size, he can do it all. Had a very solid 4.43 shuttle time as well. You have to be impressed with just how talented this kid is. Big things are in store for the senior to be.
4 — Cullen Jones, 5’6, 155, RB/WR,, 2023, NOAH @CullenJones16
40 — 5.06 … Broad 7’8 … Short Shuttle 4.41 … Power Ball 31’5
Jones is one of those up and comers already getting a jump on the competition for the class of 23 and a player that has the ability and potential to be a player of significance for a talented Noah team that could rely quite heavily on Jones, who also can play receiver. His ability to be all over the field with good hands and vision make him a player to keep an eye on. Good time of 4.41 in the shuttle and a 31.5 powerball are numbers that for a class of 23 player are already climbing those charts and what are would like to see.
164 — Josh Kaste, 5’10, 190, RB, 2020, Lincoln Christian @kastejosh
40 — 4.72 … Broad 9’0 … Short Shuttle 4.35 … Power Ball 37’2
Coming from one of the most successful programs in the state, Lincoln Christian’s Josh Kaste will be a key for several rushing yards as well as balls out of the backfield this upcoming seasons and one of the many weapons that this pass oriented offense will have in their arsenal while also giving the team a nice back and a solid running game. Impressive broad jump of 9’0 tied him for fourth best among Oklahoma RB’s. Kaste is without question one of the more impressive athletes on the team and showed just that at the 6Star Combine. Josh posted a 37.2 powerball, good enough for third best among Oklahoma backs attending. His 4.35 shuttle also impressed and ranked fourth best for OK backs.
166 — Ayden Kreger, 6’0, 200, RB, 2022, Ponca City @aydenkreger
40 — 5.00 … Broad 7’4 … Short Shuttle 5.09 … Power Ball 31’3
Kreger is one of the many reasons Ponca City looks to have a bright future in the coming seasons and with some of their more talented faces on the offensive side of the ball the 6-0, 200 freshman already has size of several of his upperclass teammates. Solid numbers and a 31’3 powerball show just some of his potential and we expect some good things from the ‘22 back.
167 — Brayden LaFever, 5’8, 180, RB/LB, 2021, Carl Albert @braydenlafever1
40 — 4.96 … Broad 8’1 … Short Shuttle 4.88 … Power Ball 33’10
LaFever could be another weapon in the very talented Carl Albert teams arenal for the 2019 campaign and is a player that one should keep an eye on. Broad jumped 8’1 and racked up a 33’10 powerball while clocking under the 5 mark in the 40 (4.96). With two more seasons left we look for him to be a player in the mix of a talent laden team at Carl Albert.
170 — DaeDae Leathers, 5’8, 156, RB, 2020, Tahlequah @20daeqwan
40 — 4.57 … Broad 8’9.5 … Short Shuttle 4.25
The fast and shifty back from Tahlequah showed just how potent of a athlete he really is and why people in Tahlequah should be excited for the running attack in the coming season. Leathers has that burner speed capability and his 4.25 short shuttle was the second best among all Oklahoma backs. Also was a speedster in the 40 yard dash with a mark of 4.57, DaeDae clocked in as the third fasetst running back a the 6Star combine from Oklahoma.
65 — Malik McMurtrey, 5’8, 153, RB/DB, 2022, Tahlequah @malikmcmurtey
40 — 4.70 … Broad 7’11 … Short Shuttle 4.44 … Power Ball 28’5
Teaming up with fellow 6Star Combiner DaeDae Leathers, look for McMurtrey to form one of the more dynamic backfields in Oklahoma this season and the 4.70 40 yard dash time shows he can move well along with a 4.44 time in the short shuttle both coming from a youngster in the class of 22 are showing that Malik looks to be the back of the future for Tahlequah.
277 — Laethon Patterson, 5’7, 188, RB/LB, 2021, Altus @dr_jpatterson
40 — 4.90 … Broad 8’0 … Short Shuttle 4.75 … Power Ball 33’0
Patterson is a load to tackle, athletic and with a 188 pound frame you don’t want to try and bring him down, a very tough runner, Patterson clocked in below the 5 mark in the 40 with a 4.90 and posted a 4.75 shuttle mark. The ‘21 back will look to make a name for himself in the next two seasons and should be the main guy for an Altus offensive that graduated Nehemiah McCaskill this past season. Patterson has a lot of potential and could be one of the more powerful backs in the state this season.
190 — Carter Rose, 5’7, 160, RB/OLB, 2022, Sapulpa @Rose_Conner
40 — 4.84 … Broad 7’10 … Short Shuttle 4.78 … Power Ball 29’9
A loaded class of 22 talent at Sapulpa, Rose is one of those guys that really can shine and has a big upside as well for a young and hungry group. Rose posted solid numbers for a youngster on the rise…4.84 in the 40, 4.78 shuttle and 29.9 powerball. Rose is a two-way standout who will no doubt factor into the teams success of the next three seasons.
196 — Keyshaun Steele, 6’2, 215, RB/LB, 2020, Spiro @keyshaunsteele1
40 — 4.80 … Broad 8’3.5 … Short Shuttle 4.66 … Power Ball 41’0
Proved he was the tops in the powerball among Oklahoma backs with a 41’0 mark, Steele can be very powerful and explosive and is a great looking athlete and prospect for a talented Spiro offense. Steele has good speed for a 215 power back and clocked a 4.66 shuttle with a respectable 8’3.5 broad jump. We expect some great things from this back this both big and athletic. Steele has a great deal of potential and has the size and power to back it up.
83 — Joe Willie, 5’10, 163, RB, 2020, Norman @willie_6
40 — 4.75 … Broad 9’3.5 … Short Shuttle 4.37 … Power Ball 27’1
Willie comes from a talented offensive unit that will look to be tough in the passing and running game and Willie looks to be that go to talent out of the backfield this season. Willie impressed at the 6star combine with a 9’3.5 broad jump, good for third best among Oklahoma backs. Also posted a 4.37 in the shuttle which was fifth best among the OK backs. All and all Willie is an impressive athlete who has all the tools to be a top rusher this season. Norman should have a great OL and a mix of weapons all over their offense. Willie is another one of their impressive veteran standouts.
213 — Myles Wooten, 6’0, 190, ATH/RB, 2020, Millwood @MylesWooten2020
40 — 4.66 … Broad 8’4 … Short Shuttle 4.47 … Power Ball 35’4
One of the fastest players you will find, clocked a 4.66 in the 40 yard dash, putting him fifth among Oklahoma RBs at the 6star combine. Wooten is getting a lot of college attention and offers and we expect the flood of schools to continue for the gifted Millwood standout. Wooten posted a 4.47 shuttle and a 35.4 powerball, both nice numbers for the senior standout and superstar from Millwood. Wooten has some great hands, speed and vision and is among the best receivers in the entire state entering the 2019 season.
