Declan Haub of Kingfisher is a player that defensive minded coaches love to coach and a player that offenses dread to have to face.
The very physical, fast, intense, and smart Haub has the total package and is always aware of what’s happening in the game. A player that has all those great intangibles.
How was the 2018 season
Declan- It has been a tough season. Two of our three losses came to two top teams in 4a, Tuttle and Bethany, we also played Heritage Hall in week 8. We have been dealing with injuries all season but my teammates keep working hard everyday and continue to improve.
How have you improved during the season
Declan- I feel like I improved my all around game this season and continued to get better every week. I’ve been playing more LB this season and I haven’t ever before and I’ve continued to get better at making reads at the LB position and making plays. I’ve also improved on my offensive side of the game, I’m a lot better blocker and route runner this year.
What schools are looking at you
Declan- I’ve had a lot of interest from D2 schools and some small D1 schools this summer and season. The schools showing me the most interest are Emporia State, Oklahoma Baptist, and SWOSU
What camps did you attend and what did you take away from those
Declan – I attended camps at Texas State, Missouri State, Abilene Christian, Emporia State, Pittsburg State, and UCO. I learned different techniques for different positions and more fundamentals that have helped me improve my game from all of those camps.
Pre Game Ritual
My pregame ritual is I always take a shower before going to the field house or getting on the bus so I can feel as fresh as possible.
Declan – My favorite song is probably Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin.
Declan- My favorite class is History.
Declan – I don’t know which game has the best of my career, I’ve had a lot of really great games it’s hard to choose just one.
